Tonight’s guest:
Steven Savile has written for Doctor Who, Torchwood, Primeval, Stargate, Warhammer, Arkham Horror, and other popular game and comic worlds.
He won the International Media Association of Tie-In Writers award for his Primeval novel, SHADOW OF THE JAGUAR, published by Titan, in 2010, and The inaugural Lifeboat to the Stars award for TAU CETI (co-authored with Kevin J. Anderson). He also wrote Fantastic TV, a critical study of 50 years of science fiction on television.
Steve has worked as a teacher, a burglar alarm salesman (for a day), a double glazing salesman (for a day), an auditor for a building company (managed a few weeks until he found out one of the partners was embezzling from the firm), in a fish factory (again for a day – there’s a pattern here, can you see it?), and had various local Government jobs before becoming a full time writer.
In 2003, Kevin J Anderson burned Steve’s story. In an open fire. Stranded in a cabin. He claims it was a matter of survival.
Steven has lived in Sweden for the last 17 years.
We’re talking to him about his novel, London Macabre, which is part of the current Dark Fantasy Bundle over at StoryBundle. Steve is also curating the CyberPunk Bundle.
