Avenging Angel by Bob Bois<\/p><\/div>\n

Bob Bois is a horror writer living in the mysterious hills of Central Massachusetts.\u00a0Many of the flash fiction pieces he posts on his blog, Sitting in Darkness<\/a>, have grown into larger, more detailed stories that are being sent\u00a0out for publication. Born and raised in Salem, MA, Bob is currently\u00a0at work on a collection of short stories set in his hometown. <\/em>Bob writes some very dark fiction, so if that’s not your cup of tea, head for the Sunday comics.<\/p>\n

In this week’s Fiction Friday offering, State Police Lieutenants Linda Einhorn and Martin Sutherland are faced with a plethora of bodies, murder victims, left in the most unusual poses for a diabolical reason:<\/p>\n

Linda reached for her vibrating cell phone on the nightstand. She didn\u2019t need the ringer; she wasn\u2019t sleeping well these days.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat?\u201d she mumbled.<\/p>\n

\u201cLinda, we\u2019ve got another one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linda sat bolt upright. \u201cLike the others? You\u2019re sure?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPropped up on all fours. Tail, mane \u2013 the works. This one\u2019s extra special, though.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linda waited, her eyes wide. She looked at the photo of a young girl on the nightstand.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor Chrissakes, Marty, spit it out. This isn\u2019t a game show.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis one has\u2026more accessories. Just get down here and see it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt? These were people once, Marty. Have some fucking respect.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
