Hey kids! Time to take a look back at last Fridays Sci-Fi Bowl-A-Rama and see if it lived up to the hype. I was sitting, rapt with full attention, a 6 of Miller and Guacamole, Mango Salsa, intent on 3 hours of goodness. <\/font><\/p>\n

HOUR 1<\/font><\/p>\n

What went wrong \u2013 The plot is getting muddled and bogged down, having multiple story lines is one thinking. Having them intertwine to the point where you lose track of who is doing what to whom is quite another.\u00a0 <\/span>Is Riley such a conniving bitch that she actually faked a suicide attempt just to make John love her more, and Oh gee, what a shock that the crazy rich lady is a killer robot. \u00a0<\/span>Not enough sexy robot goodness, LISTEN TO ME.<\/font><\/p>\n

What Went Right – Nice Explosions!! Weird but interesting Baby Daddy Sequences. \u00a0<\/span>Summer Glau is so hot, I am willing to forgive anything if she is in more that she was.<\/font><\/p>\n

One of the biggest problems with a premiere episode is that there is a fine line as to how much back-story you want to lay out and how much to keep salting into future episodes. It was a tug of war between Joss Weadon and Fox on this and while Fox, to some extent won, the final product was not as good as it could have been. I have been a Dushku fan since before Buffy, and there are very few women on TV today who can mix smoldering sensuality with kick-ass action the way she does. The 2 scenes she had with Amy Acker were just amazing, and yet did nothing whatsoever to move the plot forward. Thank you Joss, your touch there was masterful. I have some misgivings about the whole FBI thing and how it will work into the mythos, but for now, Excellent Job, despite meddling by Fox exec\u2019s. The final scene of Echo curling up in her crypt, all sweet and innocent, was chilling and a beautiful foreshadow.<\/font><\/p>\n

God, can this show get any better? Ellen Tigh as the Final Cylon? Masterful! The script is tight and terse, the cinematography is alternately grainy and gritty and bathed in pastels; just brilliantly done. \u00a0<\/span>The actors have reached within themselves and given the viewers such a beautiful show, I will be sad to see it go but happy that it was given the chance to chose its own demise rather than a brutal cancellation mid-season.<\/font><\/p>\n

Scene that stole the episode \u2013 Ellen being helped up by a toaster. A simply stunning moment.<\/font><\/p>\n
