First off, great show guys. I had never heard of Sci Fi Saturday Night before until I saw Tracy’s post on Facebook about an hour before the show started. I think I might be hooked and you will definitely see me next week.

Second, I don’t know if Tracy will see this, but i just wanted to say that he and Margaret Weis have had a great impact on my life. I started reading the Chronicles in seventh grade and eleven years later they still rank #1 on my list of favorite books. They have helped shape the way I see the world and made me want to be a writer.

I look forward to reading Eventide, and listening to next week’s Sci Fi Saturday.

Nice interview with the Hickmans. The comment about the physical book being the treasure at the end of the journey, while taking a somewhat literal meaning within the context of the discussion, really hit home with me on a more figurative level. As an avid reader for me the story is the adventure, while having the physical book on my shelf, available for me to re-read whenever I want to revisit (and perhaps discover new elements of) the adventure is a special treasure. I think that’s what makes a bibliophile a bibliophile!

And Dome–I’m with you on ALF! No problem!

    • While it is true that I have many classics loaded on my e-reader and Mac, by far my treasured possessions lay on my bookshelves. I know the rest of the staff here feels much as I do and what Tracy and Laura are doing is the best of both worlds.

Thanks for the thoughts, and for the ALF comment, too.

It was suggested during this show that people should comment to try and win the Eventide book and in the event they don’t win it to scoot over to that website and buy it. If people comment to try to win this book, and you guys are off for a break next week will you still pick a winner before the 9 days to order the 1st edition of this book is up?
This weeks show was very interesting. I am probably biased though, because I love Batman, and there was much talk of Batman.

  4. I’ll honestly say that Eventide is not my cup of tea, but hearing about the subscription from Tracy’s last SFSN appearance and this past one, I’m intrigued. I’ll have to seek out some samples or other work by Hickman.

    See ya next week!
